Bill and Ann Skidmore had three children Mike being the eldest was born in Winsor 1943,as our parents were living in Reading at the time.They lived in Slough for seven years."I don't know if it was for work or home sick,but they decided to move back to Bargoed in Mid Glammorgan.S.Wales."As our father was a coal miner". Mike was the only child for seven years I guess he was a bit spoilt,then Roger came along born in Ystrad Mynach hospital 1950.They were over the moon two boys. They then moved to Caerphilly where Dad had a new job still underground on the coalface and the chance of a new house.Then a added suprise Susan was born at Caerphilly miners 1953.My mother said that,s it our family is complete. We were a very happy family and lucky to have such lovely parents. Mike passed his eleven plus and went to Caerphilly boys grammar shool,Mum and Dad were so proud of him.He got up to high jinks like all boys do Mum and Dad had to sort things out, or him sometimes ha ha.I rember him buying his first record player.He did the paper round to save up for it.Mike loved his music 1950-1960.He was a very gooding looking young man,with his slashed back hair and those winkle pickers shoes.As mike liked to travel he was always off somewhere.Mike life was complete when he met Sue and they started they life together in Margate.I can,t believe where times goes and there is only myself Roger left out of our little family.We will always have fond memories of our big brother.
