Mike and I went on many dates after that, and I often met him in Ramsgate where he had a bedsit overlooking the sea. I remember so many times laying on the bed next to him while he smoked (I never did then!!) and had a beer whilst watching the rugby - oh, how I remember Land of My Fathers being sung and Mike singing so loudly along with it - lovely memory.
